Gamification is the use of game elements and techniques in a non-gaming context, such as a cultural or touristic services. The goal of gamification is to make an activity more engaging by using techniques that make sports games, board games, computer games etc. so much fun. The best way to ensure that your target audience will enjoy tha gamified activity is to include people belonging to this audience in the creation of the game itself.

Digital skills are necessary to people working in local heritage not only to make their work more efficient and their programmes more engaging (e.g. by applying emerging technologies, such as virtual and augmented reality), but also to communicate efficiently though digital channels and networks and increase remote cooperation with various stakeholders.
